When healthy habits are hard

Hello ladies!

I pray you all have had a terrific Tuesday. Today I thought I would write about something that is a huge topic for women: healthy living. Everywhere you look, in almost every magazine, Facebook post, and Instagram pic, someone is discussing some form of healthy habit: more sleep, which cleanser does what, should you use a sheet mask weekly, just how often should you wash your hair, personal female health, eating plans, shakeology, beach body and on and on and on. It seems to bombard us at every turn and then we feel guilty when we indulge a bit too much in that slice of chocolate cake in the break room, we opt for Netflix instead of the gym, or we don't take our makeup off before bed (I may or may not be guilty of that one). However, though these attempts to get us interested in a healthier lifestyle may be misguided at times, the truth behind them is the important part: we only have one life and we need to take care of the bodies that God has given us. Don't get me wrong, i'll be the first to tell you that I am waaaaayyy overweight, I don't sleep well, I'm on electronics far too often, and I don't have a balanced diet. It seems so much easier to eat whatever I want and then make excuses for why. Or say i'm going to start tomorrow at the gym (and then tomorrow never seems to happen).

And i'll often joke about my weight or unhealthy habits, but the reality is that if I keep going on the same path, I could be in serious trouble health wise: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. So, I have to get myself on track because God didn't make me to be unhealthy and He didn't make you that way either. If you're already doing your best to live a healthy lifestyle, I applaud you! It's hard to do. And If you know you need to get on track and do better, i'm with you! Let's do this together! Let's be healthy for Jesus because our bodies are His temple. We are to be living sacrifices to Him and when we choose healthy over easy, we will be the best versions of ourselves!

Love,

Mariah xoxo
